Applied Science Center in Homeland Security Research Foundation

The project consisted of the renovation of 87,000 square feet of existing building Number 5 (former Grumman Executive Offices, Model Shop & Lunar Module Complex).  Demolition  included the complete removals of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, elevators, stairwells, roofing, walls, floor, ceiling finishes, columns, footings & asbestos remediation.

Construction included the creation of a new Lecture Hall, Pre-function Reception Areas, Conference, Media, Labs, Data Rooms, Communication Offices & Lunch Rooms.  All with high end finishes & state of the art Security, Data, & Satellite Communication Systems.

The Owner, Matassa Construction, Inc, Cameron Engineering and Swanke Hayden Architects worked in unison to value engineer and find solutions to complete this Project on schedule and within budget.

During this Project, Kenneth Morrelly founder and president of Applied Science passed away. His leadership, integrity and inspiration will be greatly missed.
